Learning Beyond the Classroom
I think if there was an over-arching theme that came to me this week, it would be how school in Dielsdorf equips students for so much more than just what they need to learn in Secondary, what it prepares them for life in general.
My CT shared that while English is taught as a 2nd language, the language is merely used as a means of communications, where ideas and content are still being discussed in class. This means that students don't just learn grammar for the sake of knowing it, but that they can use it to express their thoughts, understand processes, etc.

PE lessons also incorporated everyday games and music, to stimulate conditions that students were familiar with.
Students also got to try their hand at javelin throwing. What is also interesting is that for PE, students are split by gender.

Based on the AMX module, I have learnt that both boys and girls lose their confidence especially so in their years of puberty. As such, perhaps it is a wise decision to cater to each gender and to help them gain their confidence on a smaller scale.
