Homestay Experience (Ashwini and Felicia)
Sunday, 5th May 2019
When we arrived in Zurich, our host drove us to her farmhouse. It was a three-storey house, excluding the cellar and both Ashwini and I had our own rooms. We were staying in Kreuzbhulstrasse, a really small and quiet town. In fact, there was only 1 family (a typical Swiss man/farmer and his mother) staying in the house next to us. The farmer has a shed with 65 cows and we could see all the cows grazing the grass in the field right in front of our house.
This is us with the host family!
The farmhouse that we are staying in!
The path we would take to school
The apple trees in the field outside our house
Dandelions are so common everywhere in Switzerland!
The cows grazing the grass. We could get so close to the cows!
Our house cats
Our host is a part-time farmer. He shares a garden with our neighbour farmer where he grows strawberry, leek, onions, lettuce, potatoes and tomatoes. We were lucky to eat fresh fruits and vegetables from his garden!
There is also an alpaca farm that we would pass by when we walk to school.
